Maternal, Child Health & Nutrition

Mothers’ and children’s health are intertwined and influenced by various circumstances. Every year, millions of pregnant women, new moms, and children suffer from severe sickness or die due to preventable or curable causes. Many of our children and youth are not getting enough nourishment, which limits their ability to grow, develop, and learn to their full potential. To improve children’s and young women’s nutrition status, Seva NGO works to enable children, adolescent girls, and young women to realize their right to nutrition and food by strengthening systems and influencing policies to increase their focus on health and nutrition as a human development issue.

  • Improve community participation in identifying and addressing detrimental social and gender norms about better health and nutrition practices.
  • Improve the quality of sanitation and hygiene services.
  • Create a community-based support system to boost quality and coverage.
  • Launch an online social media campaign for youth and young adults about the Right to Nutrition, Eating Right, Eating Safe, and Eating Healthy.
  • Girls and young women lack information literacy about the National Health and Nutrition Policy and accessible programs.
  • Collaborating with service providers and managers at the system level to establish good norms and attitudes.
  • Influence and support the government in the development of ICDS Annual Implementation Plans.
