Our journey continues—not simply towards becoming bigger, but towards becoming deeper, more accountable and more impactful, while earning the trust of the communities we serve.

Lasting social change happens when people are empowered.

SEVA believes that lasting social change happens when vulnerable people are empowered, communities take ownership, and local systems become stronger and more responsive.

We start by understanding the needs, vulnerabilities and aspirations of communities and work with people rather than simply working for them.

By creating awareness, strengthening capacities, connecting people with services and opportunities, and building partnerships with institutions and government systems, we seek to address both immediate vulnerabilities and their underlying causes.

IF

Vulnerable children, women and communities have greater awareness of their rights, access to essential services and opportunities, stronger skills and capacities, and meaningful participation in decisions affecting their lives;

AND IF

Families, communities, institutions and local stakeholders are empowered to recognise vulnerabilities, take collective action and create safer and more supportive environments;

AND IF

Government and community systems are strengthened through collaboration, coordination and local ownership;

THEN

People and communities will become better able to protect their rights, access opportunities, respond to challenges, reduce vulnerabilities and make informed decisions about their futures;

LEADING TO

Stronger, more inclusive, self-reliant and resilient communities where children are protected, women and girls can realise their potential, and individuals can live with dignity.

From understanding needs to sustained community change.

Dignity, Inclusion, Resilience and Sustainable Community Development

People become agents of change when systems support them.

When people have the knowledge, confidence, opportunities and supportive systems they need, they are better positioned to become agents of change in their own lives, families and communities. SEVA therefore measures success not only by activities completed, but by changes in knowledge, behaviour, agency, access, participation, protection and resilience that can be sustained beyond individual interventions.

SEVA’s Four Core Values

DIGNITY | EMPOWERMENT | INTEGRITY | RESILIENCE

Dignity & Inclusion

We respect the dignity, rights and potential of every individual and strive to ensure that vulnerable and disadvantaged people are included and not left behind.

Empowerment & Ownership

We strengthen people’s knowledge, confidence, skills and leadership so that individuals and communities can shape their own futures and own the solutions they create.

Integrity & Accountability

We act with honesty, transparency, responsibility and accountability towards the communities, partners, donors and institutions we serve.

Resilience & Sustainability

We build the capacity of people, communities and systems to withstand challenges and create lasting solutions that continue beyond individual interventions.

Partner with SEVA to build dignity, inclusion and resilience
