Disaster Management and Relief
SEVA works towards building prepared, resilient and responsive communities that are better equipped to prevent, withstand and recover from disasters and emergencies.
Our interventions span disaster preparedness, risk reduction, emergency response and relief, with a focus on strengthening the capacity of communities and institutions. Key areas include school safety, hospital safety, road safety, industrial safety, fire and chemical safety, first aid and CPR, search and rescue, and emergency preparedness.
SEVA also supports communities affected by natural and human-induced disasters through immediate humanitarian assistance and relief efforts.
A key element of our approach is community participation and capacity building. Through awareness programmes, practical training and preparedness initiatives, we enable individuals, families, institutions and local response groups to better understand risks and respond effectively during emergencies.
SEVA places particular emphasis on women’s participation in disaster preparedness, recognising their important role in protecting families and strengthening community resilience. Training includes emergency preparedness, first aid, search and rescue and communication during disasters.
Our goal is to move communities from reactive response to proactive preparedness, reducing vulnerability, protecting lives and strengthening the ability of communities to recover and rebuild after disasters.
Support projects that create long-term community change.
SEVA’s projects protect children, empower girls and women, improve access to healthcare and education, strengthen preparedness, support vulnerable families and build cleaner, healthier communities.
