River & Beach Cleaning Project – Mumbai & Pune

SEVA’s River and Beach Cleaning Project engages communities and volunteers in cleaning and protecting Mumbai’s beaches and Pune’s rivers. The initiative addresses plastic pollution, solid waste and other forms of environmental degradation while promoting responsible waste management and community ownership of natural resources.
Through regular cleaning drives, environmental awareness activities and community mobilisation, the project encourages citizens to reduce littering, adopt sustainable practices and protect aquatic ecosystems.
The initiative contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
